The Brief: Notebooks Worthy
of Opening Day
Amelia messaged us on WhatsApp. She was helping a friend, a pastor, launch a new church in Carmel Valley, San Diego. She had a logo, a verse, and a launch date.
The brief was clear: black hardcover notebooks with the Venture brand mark embossed on the cover, an "Est. 2026" mark at the base, and a printed scripture page inside the front cover. Luke 14:23, set in italics, reference in bold, quotation marks exactly as specified. Quantity: 125 units.
The buyer was in California. The factory is in Delhi. They had never worked together, and every mockup, revision, quote and payment had to happen over chat across a 12.5 hour time difference.
The timeline: 16 days from paid order to the launch deadline of July 31. Sea freight was off the table. Air freight, customs clearance and door delivery all had to fit inside one price and one window.
