I grew up around manufacturing. My father started Optima in 1995 and I've spent the last 10 years learning every part of this business from the ground up — design, sampling, production, export.

What do I need to provide to get started?
Almost anything works — a verbal description, a rough hand sketch, a photo of a bag you like, a ChatGPT render, or a reference product you've bought. We just need enough to understand your vision. A back-of-napkin scribble is genuinely fine. We'll ask the right questions in the consultation call to fill any gaps.
What's the difference between your tech packs and a Fiverr designer?
In one word: manufacturability. A Fiverr designer creates drawings that look professional but may miss critical factory details — wrong zipper grades, incompatible hardware, unclear stitch specs. We write tech packs the way a factory floor reads them, because we are the factory. The result is fewer sampling errors, faster approvals, and lower total cost.
How long does a tech pack take?
Approximately 2 weeks for Mini and Basic packages from brief sign-off, and around 3–4 weeks for Advanced. The timeline starts once we've had the initial consultation and you've confirmed the brief. Revisions are usually turned around within 2–3 business days.
Who owns the tech pack files when it's done?
You do — 100%. Once delivered and fully paid, all intellectual property, drawings, and files belong to you. You can take them to any factory in the world, including competitors. We also offer an NDA before we begin if your product idea is confidential.
Can you manufacture the bag after the tech pack is done?
Yes — and if you manufacture with Optima Bags, your tech pack fee is fully credited against the production order. Effectively, the spec work costs you nothing if we become your factory partner. We manufacture in Delhi with MOQs from 100 units depending on the product type.
Do you work on all bag types?
We specialise in soft goods: backpacks, duffel bags, laptop bags, tote bags, travel bags, waist bags, corporate gifting bags, school bags, and accessories. We do not cover hard-shell luggage, footwear, or non-bag accessories.
Can I negotiate or get a discount?
Volume discounts are available for 6 or more tech packs ordered together — contact us for a custom quote. We also offer a 10% discount to registered non-profits. Note that our prices are already 20% below comparable international services, and the fee is fully credited if you manufacture with us.
