The Brief: A Tote Worthy
of a Swiss Maison
Hautlence came to us with a brief that sat at the intersection of three demanding disciplines: luxury, sustainability, and functional design.
For their debut at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026 — the world's most prestigious watchmaking salon, welcoming 65 leading maisons to Palexpo — Hautlence needed a bespoke tote to carry their brand identity across the halls. Not a giveaway. A statement piece.
The brief was precise: a 100% rPET recycled canvas body paired with genuine leather handles and a debossed brand patch, engineered with a dedicated internal structure to hold their catalog and magazine without slumping. The tote had to look at home next to a six-figure timepiece — and hold up to a full day of walking Palexpo.
The timeline: 30 days, from first design sketch to delivered-in-Geneva. For a fully custom luxury product, this is the kind of brief most manufacturers quietly decline.

Luxury watchmaking clients don't grade on effort. They grade on finish. There is no second draft at a Geneva salon.

The tote had to meet luxury maison standards — stitching, finish, hand-feel, and structural integrity benchmarked against the standards of haute horlogerie itself.
Sustainability was non-negotiable: the body had to be 100% rPET recycled canvas, sourced and certified, without compromising the premium tactile feel.
The construction required a bespoke internal sleeve engineered to hold Hautlence's catalog and magazine flat and upright throughout the event — a functional demand most off-the-shelf totes cannot meet.
The deadline was fixed and global — Watches and Wonders Geneva opens on a specific date. A day late is an event missed.
✓ Our Solution
We ran multiple sampling rounds in the first two weeks — getting handle length, patch debossing depth, stitch colour, and overall silhouette dialled in to Hautlence's exact brand standard before any bulk production began.
Our fabric sourcing team secured certified rPET canvas in the deep green colourway specified, woven to a weight that holds shape without feeling plasticky — the sustainability story backed by tactile proof.
Our pattern team engineered a reinforced central sleeve inside the tote body, constructed to cradle a catalog and magazine side by side, keeping them flat and accessible throughout a full event day.
Design, sampling, approval, bulk production, finishing, QC and international dispatch were executed in 30 days end-to-end — delivered in Geneva ahead of the salon opening.

Sampling, approvals, pre-production lock
First physical samples produced and shipped for Hautlence's review. Refinements applied on stitch density, patch debossing depth and internal sleeve stiffness. Final pre-production sample signed off.

Bulk production — cutting, construction, finishing
